We are excited to announce that Allambi Care has become a finalist in two categories of the 2021 NSW Industry Training Awards for our work with the Bradford Institute of Advanced Education: the Large Employer of the Year Award and the Collaboration Award.
This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the hard work our Learning and Development Team have put in since 2015, when the Diploma of Community Services was established.
Since then, several hundred students have participated and graduated with their Diploma, which consists of online learning, flexible face-to-face workshops, compulsory training days and support from an allocated trainer.
The Diploma is work-integrated and highly contextualised to the Allambi Care frameworks, and is a supportive and holistic course catered to employee learner needs.
This unique pathway is designed to improve upon the skills of Allambi Care employees and to develop the practical skills and knowledge required by staff to competently perform their important work with our clients.
The design of the training is based on our commitment to respond to the multiple needs of people rather than requiring them to adjust to a pre-determined course booklet. Whilst this is an important element and is comprehensively met, the design and delivery of Allambi Care employee training is always about enhancing practice and tailoring it to be relevant and engaging.
A huge benefit to both the employees and clients we support is that these workplace assessments are completed with the individuals our clients feel safe, connected, and secure with. This is a non-intrusive approach that enables minimal disruption to the child or young person’s routine.
The outcomes we have seen as an organisation since establishing the Diploma Pathway include:

- Improved staff wellbeing and role satisfaction, and some of the most highly qualified and experienced staff in the industry.

The winner of the 2021 NSW Industry Training Awards will be announced at an event in September 2021 and will represent NSW in the Australian Training Awards later in the year.
