Wear It Purple Day is an annual event held on the 27th of August, and aims to foster supportive, safe, empowering, and inclusive environments for our LGBTQI+ Rainbow young people.
In a world where far too many of our youth face significant adversity, Wear it Purple day acts as a beacon of hope and encourages communities to come together to support and celebrate our Rainbow young people. Through our celebrations and acknowledgement of this important day, we remind them that they are worthy, appreciated, loved, and respected as their authentic selves.
This year’s theme “Start the Conversation, Keep it Going”, encourages us all to talk about the issues impacting LGBTQI+ youth, focus on inclusivity, diversity and understanding, and celebrate the amazing achievements of our young people.
For those of you who wore your purple gear on Friday you are amazing, and the Sexuality and Gender Inclusivity and Diversity committee appreciates your efforts!
Those who were unable to, have no fear, you can still take a selfie and share #wipallambi, #AllambiCare and #Wearitpurple.
To those Legends who entered the artwork competition, thank you!
All the entries were amazing, and we will be in contact with the winners over the coming week.
