Allambi Care and TACT recently welcomed a new team member, Roimata Heil, who has joined us as our Business Support Officer. We asked her a few questions to get to know her better.

Hello, who are you and where are you from? Tell us an amazing fact about your hometown!
Hi, I’m Roimata – but most people call me Roi! My name originates from Aotearoa (New Zealand), and I grew up on the Central Coast, where no matter which suburb you're in, you're never more than 15 minutes from a beach.

Tell us what you do then, in TACT!
I provide support across various areas of the business, including event coordination, administrative tasks, customer service, compliance, and reporting, along with a range of other responsibilities.

How did you end up here? Put a brief sentence or two together about what you did BEFORE you came to Allambi. People find this interesting, as to where we all were before Allambi.
Prior to this, I spent five years managing a sales and fundraising company, which means yes, I can talk! But beyond that, sales also taught me a range of other skills I now apply daily in my role at TACT

What makes you hop out of bed each morning, with a smile on your face, knowing you are coming to work?
What makes working at Allambi truly special for me is being part of more than just an organisation – it’s a community. I love being surrounded by a supportive and inspiring learning and development team, discovering the incredible work happening across all departments, and of course, grabbing my daily coffee from the café!

What is your guilty pleasure?
I have a guilty pleasure for crime shows – Bones, The Mentalist, and Criminal Minds are always on repeat (and yes, I absolutely overestimate my detective skills because of them!).

Come Christmas season, I watch a different festive movie every single day.

If you could travel anywhere in the world NOW, where would you go and why?
A dream of mine is to cruise to Antarctica – not just for the breathtaking landscape and wildlife, but to witness the aurora australis in all its glory.

Which piece of advice given to you have you managed to stick to in life?
In challenging moments, I remind myself:
Today is difficult… Tomorrow is much more difficult… But the day after tomorrow is beautiful. Most people die tomorrow evening.”
To me, this serves as a reminder that rewarding or “beautiful” moments don’t always come straight away, but sometimes after many, many difficult tomorrows. That the hardest moments don’t last forever – and that beauty often lies just beyond our hardest days (or even hours).

How can we contact you?
Well, if you email or call TACT from the contact on our website, chances are you’ll get me!

However, if you’re after me directly…
