We encourage all staff to speak up early and use the support pathways available—you are not expected to manage stress or distress alone.

Mental Health First Aiders (MHFA)
Mental Health First Aiders provide initial, practical mental health support, similar to physical first aid. They are trained to:
Assist during crisis situations
Provide early support and reassurance
Guide you toward further professional help
Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
All employees are entitled to three free, confidential psychology sessions per year.
EAP can support you with:
Work‑related stress and psychological injury concerns
Personal or family matters
Emotional wellbeing and resilience

AIMS Self‑Stress Assessments – Youth Workers
AIMS Self-Stress Assessments are an important end of shift task that only takes a minute and provides the following vital information:
Prompts management team and People Support & Culture check‑ins and support
Identifying trends and emerging risks
Prompts consultation
Enabling additional controls to eliminate or reduce stressors
Reporting Psychosocial Hazards
If you identify a psychosocial hazard or experience a psychosocial incident:
Report immediately to your manager, or
Contact on‑call staff after hours
Early reporting supports early intervention and injury prevention.
Shared Responsibility
A mentally healthy workplace is everyone’s responsibility.
Support is available, and speaking up early is a strength.
