Why YOU should be using ASH!
The Allambi Support Hub (ASH) is developing into a repository of all the information a support worker needs to become confident in their role. But we NEED YOUR HELP!
What is ASH?
An online library (find it on the Allambi Intranet) where self-help resources are constantly added and updated. It’s information at your fingertips, where you can up skill yourself at your own pace.
Current Learning Guides include:
These are just a few of the learning guides currently up on the intranet, so make sure you check out ASH to see what else is available.
Why should I use ASH as a resource?
All of us at some stage have been on the Allambi career pathway! This includes a journey through a five-day intensive induction training; learning about Allambi policies and procedures; how to be a successful support worker; understanding young people and adults’ trauma, and finally a multi-day Therapeutic Crisis Intervention program.
We understand that’s a lot of information to take in over a lengthy period, so it’s also understandable how your training on, let’s say, disclosure, on day one of your induction has been forgotten.
This is where ASH comes into play; you can follow our guide on disclosures and learn all about the expectations of being privy to this and how to respond.
Or - potentially day notes and incident report writing is quite new to you and difficult to grasp. Instead of winging it, why not log on to ASH, and access short how-to videos, writing guides, screen shots and tips from others that can be completed at your own pace, multiple times!
Wait, is ASH a resource for Support Workers Only?
Absolutely NOT! ASH is a resource for ALL Support Workers and Supervisors at Allambi Care.
Perhaps you’re a supervisor - you can enhance the skills, confidence and competence of the staff you are supporting by providing them with links and additional information to reference for areas of the role they require additional support.
What if I cannot find what I need?
If you cannot find what you need or there is no specific learning guide for what you are looking for, access the support form (as seen below) and highlight the specific area where you believe training could be improved. This form – with all your relevant information – will then be sent directly to the L&D Team to develop, with your assistance.
This may also be an area where we have a gap in our Induction training, so it gives our team the ability to create a training activity for our new support workers and fix the issue you have raised.
ASH is an ever-evolving fountain of knowledge for all our staff and without your help, we cannot change the issues you come across.
That’s why we need your help.
ASH is for YOU, by YOU.
