It was all smiles at the recent community cultural day hosted by Lake Macquarie City Council at Speers Point Park. Inclusive events like these bring together young people through activities that promote education and fun. Many of our Outreach staff were present to provide support for young people across the Hunter. Allambi supported Lake Macquarie City Council in the promotion of culture and learning for our young people and the community. The activities included weaving, making of clapsticks, painting gum leaves and lots of ‘kids’ attempting to throw the ball through the hole of the football board. All this activity was fuelled by a BBQ, fruit and drinks and lots of enthusiasm. The BBQ was cooked by young people from SIL who volunteered to help as part of the Outreach BUZZ program.
