What you need to know
For many of our staff, the CHC52015 Diploma of Community Services now sits in their back pocket as they continue in their roles within Allambi, from Supervisors to Support Workers.
For those staff coming through their six-month probation learning, this Diploma pathway now exists for you too.
So, what do you need to know?
CAN I ENROL?
Yes. All Allambi Care staff will have the opportunity to enrol in the CHC52015 Diploma of Community Services, which is co-delivered, and qualification issued, through the Bradford Institute of Advanced Education (RTO No. 45241).
DO I HAVE TO ENROL?
Not at all, if the following applies to you:
I have a current qualification/I am studying: If you already have a qualification or are currently enrolled in a qualification relevant to the field (e.g., Nursing, Teaching, Mental Health, Counselling etc) you are not required to enrol now, or in the future.
Please note: this qualification needs to be a Diploma minimum as advised by ‘Department of Communities and Justice.
Please ensure you contact People Support and Culture to ensure your qualification is relevant.
WHAT IF I AM NOT INTERESTED?
If you do not want to enrol and do not have a current qualification then please be advised that The NSW Therapeutic Core Framework Core Principle states that as of 2023, ITC Staff must have completed a ‘relevant diploma.’

OK, WHEN CAN I START?
Enrolments into the CHC52015 Diploma of Community Services occur quarterly and as soon as you are signed off from completing your six-month probationary learning, you will be added to the waiting list for the next enrolment period.
A member of the L&D team will then reach out and invite you to an upcoming enrolment session. If you do not wish to take this offer, this can be discussed at this time.
During the enrolment session, you are provided with all necessary information and forms to become a student, you will be allocated a trainer, and able to ask questions.
HOW LONG WILL I BE STUDYING FOR?
We project the Allambi Care Diploma Pathway to take you nine months. Each month you will be required to attend a three-hour workshop, in your own time, while also completing tasks outside the workshop.
SO, WHAT IS THE QUALIFICATION?
A nationally recognised CHC52015 Diploma of Community Services
WHAT DOES NATIONALLY RECOGNISED MEAN?
Qualifications or Statements of Attainment which are recognised and accepted by industry and other educational institutions throughout Australia. In simple terms, this is not an in-house Allambi Care qualification; it is recognised across Australia. This qualification can be utilised for career opportunities within and outside of Allambi Care and can be utilised to access further studies.
WHAT IS A REGISTERED TRAINING ORGANISATION (RTO)?
A registered training organisation (RTO) is an organisation providing Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses to students, resulting in qualifications or statement of attainments

Bradford Institute of Advanced Education
WHAT IS THE RTO RESPONSIBLE FOR?
The RTO holds full responsibility for you as their student. They are responsible for issuing your qualification in line with legislation and government guidelines.
Their role is to ensure we are providing quality education and training to you as their student.
Allambi Care trainers have obtained the qualifications required to be a Trainer and Assessor for VET courses and have been inducted to the RTO. These trainers have extensive frontline experience and have been in other roles within Allambi Care. The trainers will be responsible for your training, assessment, and support.
HOW MANY UNITS OF COMPETENCY ARE THERE?
The rules of this qualification state that students must complete 16 units:

All units of competency in a qualification are described as either 'core' or 'elective'.
Core units are mandatory for all students. Electives units can be picked from an allocated list (there are over 120 units that can be picked to make up the 8 elective units).
Allambi’s L&D team (in conjunction with the Bradford Institute of Advanced Education) have chosen the best suited elective units to include in your program based on the work that you do.

When you enrol into the CHC52015 Diploma of Community Service you will come with six months’ worth of Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) as a direct result of your successful completion of Allambi Care’s induction and probation learning. This will provide you with evidence to demonstrate that you are competent for eight units (with possible GAP training, if required).
This means that you will have eight remaining units to complete through monthly three-hour workshops.
We project that program will run for approximately nine months.
WHAT IS RPL?
RPL is an assessment process conducted to recognise the skills and knowledge you have already learnt through the induction/probation learning and on the job experience.
