The Nourish Newcastle course is available for the young people we support. This is a great program designed for disadvantaged youth and would be really beneficial for any young people ages 16-25 looking to start working or interested in a career in hospitality. The next semester of classes starts in August.

Nourish is designed as a steppingstone into the hospitality industry or further training or study. Students who successfully complete the program are eligible to receive a Certificate II in Kitchen Operations. The course also covers healthy eating, sustainability, communication, teamwork and job-search skills.

OzHarvest has an extensive network of food donors and industry contacts who are willing to provide work experience and employment pathways for Nourish graduates.

OzHarvest partners with Registered Training Organisations and delivers Nourish in Adelaide, Newcastle and Sydney with the support of volunteers, mentors and qualified industry professionals.

Nourish blends foundation and hospitality skills to best prepare the young people for study, employment and self-sufficiency. The 18-week program has two intakes per year and is free of charge for participants.

The program is promoted to agencies who receive OzHarvest food donations and are connected with youth. Student recruitment also includes referrals from schools, job service providers, youth support networks, juvenile justice and youth health service providers.
