Leisure Activity Worker Safety

Before joining our Clients, Young Persons, or Participants in leisure activities, please take a moment to do a risk assessment before starting. Ask yourself:  

• Is my physical fitness suited to this activity?
• Do I have any medical conditions that could be affected?
• What warm-up and cool down could help prevent injury?
• Would another staff member be better suited for this activity?
• Is there a safer alternative activity?
• Is the weather suitable for this activity?
• Has the management team approved this activity?

If you identify any hazards or concerns, communicate them immediately to your manager.

Together, you can work out how to remove or control risks so the activity stays safe and enjoyable for everyone.
