Between our catchment areas of the Hunter and Central Coast, the Allambi Care family preservation program is currently supporting 96 unique families, with a core objective of keeping families safe together and reducing further contact with the child protection system.
We provide support during some of life’s biggest challenges, focusing on developing meaningful relationships with parents, carers, and extended family while providing a safe and loving platform for children and young people to thrive.
Single mother and her three children find stability after overcoming homelessness with support from family preservation
After 18 months of homelessness, single mother of three (and pregnant), Lizzy, was able to secure a private rental with support from the family preservation caseworker. This occurred within the first eight weeks of assistance, marking a level of safety and permanency not previously experienced.
Since settling into their new home, the family’s life has dramatically improved. One of the most noticeable changes is the significant increase in the children’s school attendance, with all of them now attending daily and building a brighter future together.
