June and July Culture Update
During the month of June, we were planning some filming for our internal NAIDOC Film which was sent out to staff and young people.
But, during July, NAIDOC events have been taking place everywhere, from Newcastle foreshore, Central Coast, Port Stephens and Upper Hunter areas. This was the first time NAIDOC was back up and running after cancellations for the last 2 years due to Covid-19.
This year’s NAIDOC theme was Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up!, highlighting that actions speak a thousand words.
A number of our young people's teams have been working closely with our cultural team to get a number of these young boys and girls Back to Country and to see family for the school holidays. It’s been great work from both the Care teams and Cultural team.
