Allambi Care Northern office is proud to join the Purple Friday movement in Ballina Shire, an initiative led by the @rotaryballinaonrichmond and supported by @cherrystreetsports. This campaign encourages the community to wear purple shirts every Friday to raise awareness about domestic and family violence and to promote respectful relationships.
The Purple Friday initiative began in response to a tragic domestic violence incident in Ballina. Cherry Street Sports Club partnered with the Rotary Club to launch the campaign, aiming to foster unity and resilience within the community. By wearing purple shirts, local businesses, schools, and organisations collectively declare that domestic violence has no place in their community.
For Allambi Care, joining the other 100 businesses and organisations participating in Purple Friday is important. It provides an opportunity to engage in conversations about what constitutes a respectful relationship and to educate youth on recognising and addressing unacceptable behaviours. By fostering these discussions, we aim to empower our young people with the knowledge and resources to expect safety and respect in their relationships and seek help if they find themselves in challenging situations. #sayNOtoDomesticViolence #AllambiCare
