Allambi Care has been delivering Family Preservation services across Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens and the Hunter for more than 12 years. After an extensive procurement process across the sector, Allambi Care is one of six organisations that were successful in securing a contract to deliver the Families Together program across the Hunter and Central Coast regions.

Families Together sits within the suite of Family Preservation frameworks funded by the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ), alongside:
• Aboriginal Family Preservation
• Multisystemic Therapy for Child Abuse and Neglect (MST‑CAN)
• Functional Family Therapy (FFT)

Families Together is a voluntary, 12‑month program that provides flexible, intensive case management and therapeutic support to families within their communities. Eligible families have a child or young person aged 0–17 years who is suspected or determined to be at risk of significant harm. Our team works collaboratively with families to understand their unique strengths and challenges, providing tailored and flexible support that promotes positive parenting, improves family functioning and enhances child wellbeing. Through a strength-based and trauma-informed approach, we aim to empower families to make meaningful, sustainable change.

The program is guided by five core components, each with required and optional service activities that inform program structure and delivery:
• Engagement
• Case Management
• Family and Parent Support
• Therapeutic Support
• Child‑Focused Support

Allambi Care will commence delivery of Families Together from 1 July 2026. The organisation remains well positioned to deliver strengths‑based, trauma‑informed, and family‑centred supports consistent with Allambi Care’s Needs‑Based Framework. Importantly, the redesigned model allows teams to tailor program delivery to local communities, ensuring families receive meaningful support that makes a tangible difference.
