Since 2021, Cougar has been teaming up with Allambi Care to help make Christmas a little brighter for the young people and families we support. Thanks to their involvement in our Annual Christmas Gift Appeal, there have been plenty of smiles on Christmas morning as young people open gifts generously donated by the Cougar team.
Cougar is a locally owned mining and drilling company that’s been operating for 25 years, with more than 400 staff across New South Wales and Queensland. Each year, they rally their teams across all sites - and even some of their suppliers - to jump on board and support the Appeal. It’s a genuine team effort, with people coming together to make sure the young people in our care feel thought of and included at a special time of year.
This week, we had the chance to return the favour by cooking a BBQ for the Cougar crew at Thornton. We loved hearing what motivates them to get involved, and it was especially powerful to share a few words from some of our young people about what those Christmas gifts meant to them at the time. Moments like that are a great reminder of why partnerships like this matter.
We’re really grateful for Cougar’s ongoing support and the practical way they get behind our work. When local organisations come together like this, it creates real, positive outcomes for young people and families.
We’re looking forward to keeping this partnership going and continuing to make a difference - together.
