Every year, Hunter Homeless Connect Day brings the community together in a powerful way, linking people in need with vital services that can make a real difference. The event brings together housing and accommodation providers, health and wellbeing supports, legal and financial assistance, and pathways to employment and study. It’s designed to meet people where they are and connect them with what they need most.

But more than just services, the day is about dignity, connection, and hope. It’s about creating an environment where people feel respected, valued, and supported no matter their circumstances.

This year, at the 2025 Hunter Homeless Connect Day, the Allambi Care Homelessness Team was proud to stand alongside many other community organisations. Our team contributed through donations, sharing information, and offering referral pathways for families and young people experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

For us, the day isn’t just another event on the calendar. It’s something we pour our time and effort into, because it allows us to give back to the community while strengthening the ways we can support those doing it tough. Being part of Connect Day is both humbling and inspiring a reminder of why we do the work we do, and of the power of community when we come together.

From a member of the SHS team:

Being part of Homelessness Connect Day is about more than setting up a stall; it’s a chance to collaborate with other services, share the work we’re passionate about, and, most importantly, a chance to connect with members of the community. Seeing the smiles on people’s faces and having those real conversations reminds us why days like this are so important to be a part of.
