At Allambi Care, we are fortunate to work alongside dedicated leaders who have spent their careers making a lasting difference in the lives of children, young people, and families. In this series, we speak with members of the Allambi Care Leadership team to explore their journey, what has shaped their work, and the impact they continue to make every day.

In this episode, we speak with Tim Reed, Director – Fostering and Permanency. Tim has been with Allambi Care for over 20 years and has played a significant role in the growth and development of the organisation’s foster care program.

Tim began his journey in frontline youth work after completing a Bachelor of Business, initially viewing it as a short-term opportunity. However, a meaningful connection with a young person quickly shifted his perspective, opening his eyes to the impact and importance of out-of-home care. From there, Tim transitioned into casework and found his long-term calling within foster care.

Throughout his career, Tim has been driven by a deep respect for foster carers and the vital role they play in providing safety, stability, and care for children and young people. His leadership has focused on strengthening these relationships and ensuring children are supported to maintain meaningful connections with family and community wherever possible.

In his current role, Tim oversees foster care and permanency pathways, including restoration, guardianship, and adoption. His work is grounded in creating long-term stability for children while supporting the development of strong, lifelong support networks.

Reflecting on his 20-year journey, Tim highlights the strength of his team and the dedication of foster carers as key sources of inspiration. He is proud of the strong foundations built within the foster care program and the consistency and commitment of the teams who continue to deliver high-quality care and support every day.
