All In for Reconciliation Week

‘All In’ - this year’s Reconciliation Week theme is a call to action for all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation, not just during this week, but in everyday actions, listening, and relationships.

We came together with community, the Allambi team and our young people to listen, learn and reflect. A smoking ceremony and warm Welcome to Country by Randall from Gabinya Miyaya grounded the morning for what followed. Bindi Flook - Aboriginal Community Development Officer from Lake Macquarie City Council shared a personal reflection of what ‘All In’ meant to her, and the importance of walking together, listening and understanding. A panel discussion followed, hosted by Cody Webb, creating space for conversation, reflection, and shared learning.

We then joined the Lake Macquarie community for the Stride for Reconciliation walk at Warners Bay. This was a powerful gathering shared with local schools, community groups and other organisations.

Our Victoria team walked with Sean from Nairm Maan Djamabana. Young people and staff came together to learn from Sean, interact with cultural artefacts, explored the Bay trail and learning about bush tucker, and finished off the day with leaf decoration.

Across both gatherings, the focus remained the same — listening more than speaking, learning from each other, and walking alongside community with respect and care.
