When he started working for Allambi, Tim had just finished university and wasn't sure what career path to take. He soon realised, by working closely with a young person, that being a youth worker at Allambi Care was incredibly impactful.

'I worked alongside this young fellow for seven months and he says to me "you've been more of a father to me than anyone else in my life". Two things happened at that moment, firstly I felt pretty good about myself and then my heart broke and I questioned why, how could he say that after such a short amount of time? The power of a trusting relationship.'

Tim has an awesome team around him and whole bunch of amazing carers who day in and day out meet the needs of some great children and young people.

It's because of those young people that Tim gets out of bed every day.

'It's not an easy job but what keeps me going through the hard days is when I think of the young Aboriginal boy we restored to his mother's care, and the young girl we reconnected with her father after not seeing him for seven years. Those young people now have an opportunity for long-term, trusting relationships.'

During his time with Allambi, Tim has supported many more young people in Allambi's care. Some days have been hard but he wouldn't change his job for anything.ey with Allambi Care.
